FBISD Takes Center Stage At State Capital Over People-Soft Employee Pay Problems-

This past Monday the Committee On Technology, Economic Development & Workforce of the state legislature listened to complaints for and against a bill sponsored by representative Dora Olivo of Richmond. Most members of the committee found it unconscionable that employees of FBISD were not being paid on time. Even opposition groups to the bill found it appalling.

Follow this link and select the 4/27/09 link for 9:04am and scroll in to about 12:50. It begins with the testimony from Ms. Olivo and continues with speakers on both sides of this issue, but all seem to agree that FBISD should NOT be paying employees late for services already provided:

Watch comment: Why hasn't our board discussed this publically at our BOT meetings? What is our administration doing to address this, if anything?

It really is hard to believe that it is only going on in FBISD, but that is what the TASA, TASB and the employee federations are reporting. The comments by the committee members are not very kind to this district.

Do we have a problem?

Believe it!

Did you not believe your ears as it is stated? It is unbelievable and appalling, but true it is. The Fort Bend ISD operates in a vacuum and so it defies its own policy, state policy, and the USA Constitution because as stated so aptly by one of the BOT, "They don't have to follow policy."

And so that attitude of “Frankly My Dear----" is the reason they took center stage at the State level.

It reminds me of so many decisions made over the last 2 years by these board members. Remember when the communications office refused to call the riots at Marshall what they were and the director who is still working for the district after using the maintenance department to fix his private vehicles.

This is typical of the Dr. Jenney and his pirates. The current administration is more worried about consolidating their gripes on power, and making more and more administrative positions than they are in fundamental issues as paying their employees on time. One must ask how hard is it to run a payroll? It is really not that difficult. If you find these things appaling you should check out www.fortbendemployees.blogspot.com and be prepared to be shocked at the many other things that the public is not even aware of.

I find these blogs the only way we can get information that the school district keeps quiet. Thanks!

I just wanted to comment on that post regarding the board hecklars. I think that is why the Fort Bend Sun recently moved the political section to the entertainment section. lol
