Pinnock Files For Missouri City Council Position!

Pinnock Files For MoCity At-Large Position 1
by Jamie Mock, FortBendNow

Noel Pinnock has filed to run for Missouri City Council At-Large Position 1, currently held by Jerry Wyatt. Pinnock is a 34-year-old Quail Valley resident, and an employee of the Houston Independent School District.

Wyatt has filed for re-election, along with current Mayor Allen Owen and At-Large Position 2 Councilman Buddy Jimerson. Willie Edward Harvey, III filed yesterday to run for At-Large Position 2 against Jimerson. Greyling Poats has filed to run for mayor against Owen for a second time, after having lost in the 2006 election. . . full story at:

Congratulations Mr. Pinnock for taking a big leap of faith and trusting the people of Missouri City who have supported your reform efforts over the years. You are of noble character and deeds, something rare these days in the political arena. It won’t be an easy fight for you facing the nearly 3 decade long entrenched candidate (Wyatt), but it is time for a change. I believe this will be the first time in many campaigns that all three at large candidates will be challenged.

Many issues are evident from the Blue Ridge Landfill Expansion and the lack of opposition by Wyatt, Owen and Jimerson, along with failure to fully repeal ordinance 46-4 (the infrastructure ord. that still requires residents to repair their own sidewalks, curb and gutter), disparity in developments, undue influence of 4 of the council members by the special interests, 3 separate property tax increases voted/supported in at the end of 2007 (by these 3), highest home foreclosure rates in the county, highest crime frequency in the county, highest taxes in the county, loss of last hospital in 2006 (with no replacement in sight), very high city employee turn-over and the tendency to manage strictly by crisis.

It’s time for a new direction as well as a new beginning. Let’s kick off OPERATION CLEAN SWEEP today (Super-Tuesday)!

Just read this instant news network flash…I believe Pinnock will be a much needed addition to our Council. I googled his name and he has a website up and running with good information. Check it out: www.noelpinnock.com

I don’t know Willie Edward Harvey and I couldn’t find much on him…but it is still good that residents step up to the plate. Good luck to all!

I am so glad to see that other candiate are running for these position and will be supported. I am willing to help with their campaign any way I can because it is time for these old members to go. We want people who cares about the city with new ideas and meeting the citizens needs.

Good luck to you Mr. Pinnock. I cannot imagine a better qualified or sincere candidate to seek to replace a special interest backed incumbent. Perhaps decorum can be restored in city hall after all.

“He has my absolute support in his bid for Missouri City At-Large Position 1.

Lou Hunter”

This is a wonderful endorsement from a former city council candidate and community activist! We appreciate your work last year Lou putting pressure on these entrenched council members regarding the disparity in development issues as well as your efforts regarding the Blue Ridge Landfill Expansion. It’s people like you and Mr. Pinnock that are a real credit to the city.

Keep the flag flying!

Noel Pinnock, myself and other concerned citizens of Missouri City have fought extremely hard to protect its residents for quite some time. I have all confidence that he will provide an unbiased, and “unbought” approach towards equitable growth for our great city.

He has my absolute support in his bid for Missouri City At-Large Position 1.

We need new people to run, not those who have lost 1, 2 3 or more elections in Ft. Bend.

Bob, is their someway to keep others from copying our logins and using them? Even though I do support Mr. Pinnock I’m not the one who duplicated the login right below this one (following the 1:08 post, which is mine),

I just want to say how great it is to finally see some real challengers emerging in local races around the county. It should shake a few things up and all I can say is it is about time. Small business owners have been pushed around long enough by the chamber!

I think Jerry is insecure about running in a race with Noel Pinnock because of his known name recognition around the Missouri City Area, and rightly he should be. The guy is smart on the issues affecting our city and appears to have a very likeable personality, unlike anyone currently sitting on city council. I am glad to see of his interest in wanting to serve the Missouri City residents, and boy do we need new leadership of his kind. For more information you can visit Noel Pinnock’s website as I did at www.noelpinnock.com

We must get rid of that old stinch that Wyatt have left in Missouri City for much too long. This guy Jerry Wyatt has run unopposed and sat on council for over 23 years and his results are evident when you drive down 2234, Cartwright Rd., 2234 etc….

Jerry the jerk just go ahead and prepare for a long overdue retirement.

Yes, new faces on the council after nearly 20 to 30 years would be nice IC and also some new commissioners at the county level. You know the kind that will work to honestly keep the public represented and informed on issues like the landfill and redirection of our taxes to the special interest contributing to their campaigns, you know, of course you do!
